DAY 1 - PHU QUOC ISLAND

Phu Quoc Island is located of the southwest corner of Viet Nam. The island is called the Emerald Island because of its natural treasures & unlimited potential. Fishing is the main industry on Phu Quoc which is well known in these parts for its high quality fish sauce! Fish sauce is a condiment that is served at virtually every meal in Viet Nam – it is more typical than ketchup on an American table!
Phu Quoc is a small island of about 85,000 people and the resort we stayed at had a WONDERFUL beach with water warm enough for me to enter in less than 1 minute – record time! The area is supposed to be the up and coming place to vacation that is still a bit unknown!
Since Brianna and I were very tired after the long flight, we decided not to tour the island, but remained at the beach and pool for the whole day so we could rest up for the week ahead. Bria was so well rested, she slept through at least ½ of the most fabulous seafood dinner! We have found that a typical Vietnamese meal consists of 7 courses which include soup, rice, vegetable and meat dishes along with fresh fruit!

It was an early night, however, since we had to leave for the airport by 6:30 a.m. on Saturday!
